Customers here can enjoy tempura, grilled dishes, sushi and other items representative of Japanese cuisine, as well as the restaurant’s original menu items with an addition of ingredients popular in California. The food menu alone boasts an impressive 350+ items to choose from.
Fresh, seasonal fish are flown in from Japan twice a week. Each of these import orders is sold out completely and the restaurant always provides only the freshest seafood. Their Super Deluxe Sushi Sampler (10P) is a sushi platter with 10 varieties of sushi handpicked by the sushi chef. On the day we visited, this included Japanese glass shrimp, horse mackerel, butterfish and kohada gizzard shad. The restaurant also provides highly fragrant condiments from Japan, such as young green onion shoots and Japanese ginger which are indispensable for sushi, making for an authentic taste of Japan.

The most popular menu item here is the Special Tuna Carpaccio from their original menu. This is a very extravagant item which tops pacific bluefin tuna sashimi with pecorino cheese, arugula, and a truffle sauce with sliced black truffles on top of it all. Their Spicy Yuzu Shio Ramen is made with a pork bone broth, which is stewed for 2 to 3 days, and into which yuzu citrus juice is added, and topped with jalapenos. They say that many of their customers come here seeking out these original Japanese cuisine items which can only be experienced in California.

Another item of note on the menu is the Japanese sake menu with over 40 varieties which have been handpicked by the restaurant’s owner who holds a sake tasting expert certification. Included in this lineup are rare Yamahai Junmai-Shu sakes that can be enjoyed much like whiskey or shochu by mixing with water.
