Everyone knows Umenohana for its kaiseki dinners, tofu and yuba (tofu skin) cuisine. Still, this branch in Bangkok has another signature menu: crab dishes. Guests tell their friends about the beautiful and luxurious food presentations that are so photogenic for SNS media. One of them is a Three-Drawer Treasure Box with plenty of seafood from the sea around Japan such as sea urchin and ikura (roe). Another is a set menu dished up on a great umenohana (plum flower) shaped platter. The special dish is Hikiage Yuba that can be prepared by guests themselves. This is going to be a very unique experience for many foreigners, and they would learn about Japanese dietary culture from their very first experience. The Head Chef, Mr. Masaji Iwahashi, carefully selects ingredients by himself. For example, he uses unagi (eel) from Kagoshima to prepare summer seasonal unagi dishes.
