RÒU by T-HAM opened in 2016 as a directly-managed store of T-HAM. The name of the upscale store, which faces onto the tree-lined Dunhua South Road, means "meat" in Chinese. It is a "select meat shop" that serves meat specially selected to be safe and delicious.

「台畜(T-HAM)」在2016年開幕直營店「RÒU by T-HAM」。面對敦化南路林道,充滿高級質感的店家,其名稱在中文裡的意思為「肉」。精選提供安全美味肉品的「肉品精選店鋪」。

T-HAM was founded in 1967, and its history began with the export of pork to Japan. Currently, it is Taiwan’s exclusive importer and retailer of Kagoshima Kurobuta Pork from Kyushu. “The Kagoshima Kurobuta pigs are fed with sweet potatoes, so there is a sweet taste to the meat, and the fat is not sticky. The taste is different from any other,” explained store manager Eden Chen, who has 30 years experience in the business. Customers who buy the processed meat on the first floor tend to be wealthy Taiwanese in their 50s and with a discerning palate.

The younger generation can get their first experience of“selected delicious meat” at the restaurant on the second floor. The Sake Lees Miso Stew (420 yuan per person, available for two or more people) has a mild miso base and is quite different from the usual Taiwanese Hot Pot. You can enjoy Kagoshima Kurobuta Shoulder Butt (680 yuan), whose soup gives off the gentle aroma of sake lees, or thinly sliced Kagoshima Kurobuta Shabu Shabu (580 yuan), with the rich and elegant aroma of special ponzu and sesame sauces. In the Chopped Kagoshima Kurobuta Pork Bowl (small 240 yuan, large 350 yuan), the large portion of chopped meat is complimented by the flavor of the soy-based sauce. Also on the menu are items that combine Japanese oysters or potato croquettes with salad. T-HAM CEO Harrison Chang says, “As well as meat, we incorporate other good and delicious Japanese foods.”

It is possible to buy assortment of Kagoshima Kurobuta Pork as gifts from the directly managed store or the T-HAM online store, and packs for household use can be purchased in supermarkets such as PX Mart. Its delicious taste is becoming widespread across Taiwan.

「台畜」創業自1967年,最早為出口至日本的豬肉出口商。現在獨佔入口並販售來自九州的「鹿兒島黑豬」販售。經營此業30年的店長陳一德(Eden Chen)說明:「由於鹿兒島黑豬食用番薯作為飼料,因此肉質甘甜且不油膩,與其他種類的肉口感不同。」在一樓購買加工肉品的人多為富裕階級,挑嘴的50多歲台灣人。

年輕一輩則是由二樓餐廳開始體驗「精選美味肉品」。「酒糟味噌鍋」(420元/1人,至少需2人方可點用),與一般的「台灣火鍋」完全不同,使用味噌作為湯底。佐以優雅香醇的特製柚子醋或芝麻醬,品嘗飄盪著酒糟香氣湯頭的「鹿兒島黑豬梅花肉」(680元)或「鹿兒島黑豬五花肉」(580元)。「鹿兒島黑豬五花肉丼飯」(小240元、大350元),則是以醬油基底的醬汁襯托厚切肉片的美味。除了上述餐點以外,也有以沙拉搭配日本的牡蠣或馬鈴薯可樂餅的菜單。「台畜」董事長張華欣(Harrison Chang)表示:「除了肉以外,我們也準備了日本的美味商品以及優良素材」。

直營店鋪與「台畜」的網路商城可購買鹿兒島黑豬肉的禮盒,「全聯福利中心」等超市則可買到家庭包產品。目標為將其美味推廣至全台灣。
