Japanese Culinary Arts Certification Overseas Certification Program

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries designed this program for Japanese Food Supporters on April 1, 2016 in order to promote Japanese agricultural, forestry, fishery and food products around the world.
This program was established to further spread the charm and appeal of Japanese food, food culture, and Japanese food products. Specific guidelines are established so that overseas chefs of Japanese cuisine who have reached a certain level of skill and knowledge, private organizations, etc. can voluntarily get certified as official Japanese Food Supporters.
Through use of this program, we aim to promote efforts in Japanese culinary arts and foster foreign chefs with adequate knowledge and skills in Japanese cuisine. As accredited parties grow in number, Japanese cuisine and food culture as a brand will strengthen, thus expanding the usage of Japanese agricultural, forestry, fishery and food products.
